Charlie and the Castle Project

CHARLIE AND THE CASTLE PROJECT

A group project that I lead at Loyola University New Orleans for first year Music Industry Studies students. Our project was based around the Baton Rouge group, Charlie and The Castle. It entailed recording an album, creating merchandise, booking and promoting a CD Release show, creating a music video, and creating a website. I took the lead on producing the album, facilitating the merchandise, and handling the show. The album was recorded in October 2011 and everything was turned around and ready to go for the release show in November 2011.

RECORDING THE ALBUM

Another member of the group had a connection to the studio pictured below. We were able to record the four song EP there for free at a high quality.

MERCH

We pressed 100 CD’s and 50 T-shirts for the release show. We made back more than what was spent on the merch with only the sales from the night of the show and gave the leftover merch to the band.

SHOW

The show drew over 200 people paid and was huge success for the band!
