While Facebook and Instagram reign supreme as the most efficient ways to reach people through social media, other more traditional methods of promo have proven to still be effective.
MIKE’S SPECIAL SHOWS
A series of shows I did at an all ages venue in Baton Rouge called HTGT Thrift. We targeted high school students by distributing 11x17 and handbill style flyers to young fans at the different high schools around town. They would help us spread the word by distributing the flyers to their classmates. The idea was to build show bills with no fluff, where every act was worth seeing. In doing so, the next time they saw one of these goofy flyers at their school, they would know it was worth the time.
